Preemptive apologies to anyone who actually wants to see a fusion between Constantine and Legion. But I watched the trailer for Aaron Eckhart's new movie, I, Frankenstein, and it somehow looks more generic than Van Helsing minus the charm of Hugh Jackman and camp of Richard Roxburgh. See, that's three movies now that the pieces of I,F seem to be cobbled together from, with those films already containing badly assembled parts of other films. I hope Eckhart remembers what an excellent dramatist he is as opposed to a sub-par action star before he follows the same deadening trail Nicolas Cage has blazed ahead on.
Precious little else has been interesting recently in the way of movie news, but there was this incredible sketch from Saturday Night Live about fantasy casting for the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey adaptation. Now I just have to imagine how awesome Philip Seymour Hoffman would have been in the role.
Tomorrow I'll have a review of the documentary Leviathan.
